HDP OR HDPE

This is one of the best plastic bottles that is considered generally safe for our health and the environment.

PP

This symbol indicates that the plastic bottle should be white or transparent. It is usually used for yogurt and is light and resistant.

LDPE

This type of plastic is used for plastic bags and doesn’t release chemicals in water.



PS

PS is usually used on fast food containers. These containers release dangerous and carcinogenic substances and should be avoided.

PC

This symbol indicates common plastic that is dangerous and corrosive due to the presence of chemicals.

Besides knowing what the symbols mean, it’s also important not to reuse the bottles or leave them exposed to the sun as they leak dangerous substances.
